The Three Angels’ Messages

The Bible is a book of prophecy written by the inspiration of God and gives us the wisdom that leads to salvation. God, who declares the end from the beginning, has previously written in the Bible what is still to come, from ancient times (2 Ti 3:15–16; 2 Pe 1:19–21; Isa 46:10).

The Bible is the word of God who foresees the future, and that is definitely why we should trust the Bible. Through history, we can see that the prophecies of the Bible have been fulfilled without fail at their appointed time. Now, let us find out what God wants to show us through the messages of the three angels in the book of Revelation, among many prophecies.

The Three Angels’ Messages to Mankind

In the book of Revelation, the Apostle John wrote things about the future that he saw in a vision, even things that would take place in this age. Through them, God showed us what kind of people would be able to enter Heaven.

Rev 14:6–11 Then I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth—to every nation, tribe, language and people. He said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water.” A second angel followed and said, “Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great, which made all the nations drink the maddening wine of her adulteries.” A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too, will drink of the wine of God's fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. He will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment rises for ever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name.”

The three angels deliver God’s messages to all people. The first angel says that everyone must understand God correctly and fear Him because the time is coming when God will judge the earth. The second angel declares that Babylon the Great, which has committed spiritual adultery, will surely be destroyed. The third angel urges us not to worship the beast and his image and to never receive the mark of his name, because those who receive the mark of the beast on their foreheads or on their hands will be tormented with burning sulfur.

Worship Elohim the Creator

The first angel advises people, who face God’s impending judgment, to “worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and the springs of water.” It is Elohim who made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and the springs of water. According to Bible prophecy, God the Creator has come as the Spirit and the Bride to give people the water of life.

Rev 22:17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.

The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come! Take the free gift of the water of life.” Why do They tell us to “come”? It’s because we can be saved when we seek the Ones who made the heavens, the sea, and the springs of water and worship Them, before the time of God’s judgment comes. Now is the time for the whole world to come to God the Father and God the Mother who made the springs of water.

The second angel’s message announcing the fall of Babylon is connected to Revelation 18.

Rev 18:1–8 After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven. He had great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his splendor. With a mighty voice he shouted: “Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great! She has become a home for demons and a haunt for every evil spirit, a haunt for every unclean and detestable bird. For all the nations have drunk the maddening wine of her adulteries. The kings of the earth committed adultery with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries.” Then I heard another voice from heaven say: “Come out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues; for her sins are piled up to heaven, and God has remembered her crimes. . . . for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.”

Babylon the Great refers to false churches that claim to believe in God but have been committing spiritual adultery and deceiving all the nations. Many people regard them as right, but God says Babylon is a place that will be judged and tells His people to come out of her, so that they will not receive any of her plagues.

Then, where should God’s people go? God’s dwelling place is Zion, where God is with His people who keep the feasts and gives them the blessings of the forgiveness of sins, salvation, and eternal life (Ps 132:13–16; 133:1–3; Isa 33:20–24).

Those Who Follow the Beast

The third angel tells us that all people are divided into two groups: those who receive the mark of the beast and those who obey God’s commandments and keep their faith in God. We need to examine the current state of our faith—whether we belong to the beast and worship his image or whether we belong to the true church that God personally leads.

Rev 13:1–4 . . . And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast. Men worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, “Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?”

The “beast” here refers to those who are given authority and power by the dragon and speak against God. As it is prophesied that the whole world will follow the beast, all people in the world who do not know the truth will follow the beast.

Rev 12:17–13:1 Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to make war against the rest of her offspring—those who obey God’s commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus. And the dragon stood on the shore of the sea. . . .

The dragon, who gave authority to the beast, is the ancient serpent in the Garden of Eden, Satan the devil (Rev 12:9). God has made the serpent and the woman enemies to each other since the Garden of Eden. The woman, Eve, represents our Heavenly Mother—the source of life, and her husband Adam stands for the one to come—Christ who is to come a second time (Ge 3:20; Ro 5:14).

In other words, the war between the dragon and the woman that the Apostle John saw in a vision is the spiritual war between Satan and Heavenly Mother, which is to take place in the last days. The Bible shows that there are followers of the dragon and the rest of the woman’s offspring. Unlike those who worship the dragon and will be tormented with burning sulfur, the rest of the woman’s offspring are the ones who keep God’s commandments and will be saved.

Those Who Obey God’s Commandments and Keep Their Faith in God

Rev 14:12 This calls for patient endurance on the part of the saints who obey God’s commandments and remain faithful to Jesus.

The third angel explains about the people who will suffer judgment as a result of worshiping the beast and his image, and then speaks of the saints who will be saved. They patiently obey God’s commandments and keep their faith in Christ, and they never give up on spiritual blessings. These are the very people who will go to Heaven.

Many people today believe in Jesus as Christ, but in the time of the early Church most people did not believe in Jesus who came in the flesh. Jesus grew up in Nazareth and preached the gospel. His father was Joseph, his mother was Mary, and He had brothers and sisters as well. So they regarded Jesus as a heretic and condemned the saints, who preached that Jesus is the Savior, as the followers of the Nazarene sect (Ac 24:5). However, even amid social prejudices, hardship, and persecution, they obeyed God’s commandments and kept their faith until the end, and they are now resting in peace and comfort in Heaven (Rev 14:13).

It is the same in the Age of the Holy Spirit when Christ is to come a second time according to Bible prophecy. If we patiently obey God’s commandments and keep our faith in Jesus who has come a second time, God will repay us with eternal comfort and rest according to our faith and deeds. No matter what difficulties we face, we should keep God’s commandments as the people of God. This is God’s message to people in this age.

The whole world is following the dragon and the beast. Then, how can we find the true church? We can distinguish the true church from false churches by looking at whether or not they keep God’s commandments.

Ex 12:11–14 “. . . it is the Lord’s Passover. On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn—both men and animals—and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the Lord. The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt. This is a day you are to commemorate; for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to the Lord—a lasting ordinance.”

The Passover, which we celebrate today, is a law and a commandment that God established at the time of the Exodus. Jesus established it as the New Covenant when He came to this earth in the flesh 2,000 years ago.

Lk 22:7–15, 19–20 Then came the day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed. Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover.” . . . They left and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover. When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table. And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. . . .” And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.”

Jesus celebrated the Passover, and all of His twelve disciples, including Peter and John, also kept the Passover. Today, many people claim to believe in Jesus and want to imitate the faith of the apostles, but they do not celebrate the Passover that Jesus taught us to keep.

The Sabbath, which we keep, is also a commandment that God personally established to give blessings to people, saying, “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy” (Ex 20:8). However, it is so hard to find a church that observes the Sabbath on Saturday according to God’s word. That’s because God’s set times and laws were changed by Satan, as prophesied (Da 7:25).

Many churches today keep Sunday, celebrate Christmas, and worship the cross, which are lawless acts that come from the doctrines of pagan religions. These idolatrous doctrines hide the truth and provoke God to anger.

We need to correctly understand why we keep God’s commandments, such as the Passover and the Sabbath. The fact that we keep God’s commandments proves that we are on God’s side, not worshiping the beast and his image. Let us take pride in the fact that we are God’s people and the Gospel we have is the truth that saves people.

Love God by Keeping the Law

Jos 22:5 “But be very careful to keep the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you: to love the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to obey his commands, to hold fast to him and to serve him with all your heart and all your soul.”

1 Jn 2:3–6 We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. The man who says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.

Those who keep the law are the ones who love God. If we truly live in God, we must walk as God did. When God came to this earth, He kept the Sabbath. So we, too, must keep the Sabbath. Since God celebrated the Passover, we must also celebrate the Passover. The Bible clearly testifies that those who do not keep God’s commandments are liars and the truth is not in them.

Mt 7:21–23 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ ”

Jesus said, “Wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it” (Mt 7:13–14). He added that on the Day of Judgment many people will say they know Him but He will tell them plainly, “Away from me.” It’s because those who forsake God’s commandments and practice lawlessness are not worthy of going to Heaven.

Let’s look at the three angels’ messages again. According to their messages, when the whole world is worshiping the beast and his image, those who do not participate in such idolatry but obey God’s commandments and keep their faith in Christ who has come a second time are God’s true people and God will repay all their efforts with the blessings of heaven. All these prophecies are being fulfilled. How joyful and glorious it is for us to belong to the rest of the woman’s offspring!

God has come as the Spirit and the Bride, who have taught us all the truths of the New Covenant and made us workers of the New Covenant. Our mission is to lead people along the path to Heaven because they are in danger of being tormented forever and ever as a result of worshiping idols unknowingly. The prophets in the Bible boast about God’s people who are on God’s side and keep His commandments with patience until the end, and Elohim our Father and Mother are also supporting us. The glorious Kingdom of Heaven has been prepared for us who keep God’s commandments. I earnestly ask all of you, people of Zion, to firmly believe that and preach the gospel with great confidence, following Heavenly Father and Mother wherever They lead us.
