The Holy City, Jerusalem

Now, the glory of Jerusalem is being proclaimed rapidly throughout the world according to the prophecies of the Bible, and it is heard that the people of Zion around the world are continuously coming to Jerusalem. Seeing these prophetic signs, we can realize that the glory of Jerusalem will be spread soon to Samaria and to the ends of the earth—to all nations of the world, just as God prophesied.

Through the Bible, let’s study the reality of Jerusalem whose glory will be proclaimed to the whole world, and find out what blessings are given to those who participate in Her glory.

The Holy City, Jerusalem

Christ is to come a second time to bring us salvation (Heb 9:28). Through the prophecies in the book of Revelation, let’s study how God’s salvation is given to us when He comes a second time.

Rev 22:18-19 “I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.”

At the end of the Bible, God sternly warns that if anyone does not follow the words of the prophecy of this book [Bible], he will lose his share in the tree of life and in the holy city. Losing his share in the tree of life means failing to obtain eternal life. God also says that He will take away from anyone his privilege to share in the holy city. By this God means that he will not be able to enter the kingdom of heaven.

Here, we need to think about the holy city. In order to receive salvation, we should know what the holy city is.

Rev 21:2-4 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband . . . “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

Rev 21:9-12 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.” And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel . . .

Apostle John testified that the Holy City that is coming down out of heaven is Jerusalem. As this Jerusalem has come down from heaven, the dwelling of God is with men and God’s people are able to receive salvation and enter the kingdom of heaven.

Salvation achieved in the heavenly Jerusalem

If we carefully look at the characteristics of the City of Jerusalem recorded in the Bible, we can realize that Jerusalem is closely related to our salvation.

Isa 52:1-3 Awake, awake, O Zion, clothe yourself with strength. Put on your garments of splendor, O Jerusalem, the holy city. The uncircumcised and defiled will not enter you again. Shake off your dust; rise up, sit enthroned, O Jerusalem. Free yourself from the chains on your neck, O captive Daughter of Zion. For this is what the Lord says: “You were sold for nothing, and without money you will be redeemed.”

The above verses say that when the Holy City, Jerusalem, puts on her garments of splendor and sits enthroned, the children of Zion, who are bound by the chains of sin and death, will be freed and redeemed. This means that the work of God’s salvation is accomplished through Jerusalem.

Rev 21:23-27 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it. Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Only those whose names are written in the book of life can enter the city of Jerusalem. The glory of those who enter the city is something that is beyond words. The Bible says that nobody is qualified to receive salvation except through Jerusalem.

The people, who have the privilege to enter Jerusalem, are given the promise of eternal life. It is because Jerusalem is the reality of the Most Holy Place. The city of Jerusalem has the same structure as the Most Holy Place in the temple of God; it is a square, as wide and high as it is long.

Rev 21:14-16 The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city, its gates and its walls. The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia in length, and as wide and high as it is long.

1 Ki 6:14-20 So Solomon built the temple and completed it. He lined its interior walls with cedar boards, paneling them from the floor of the temple to the ceiling, and covered the floor of the temple with planks of pine. He partitioned off twenty cubits at the rear of the temple with cedar boards from floor to ceiling to form within the temple an inner sanctuary, the Most Holy Place. The main hall in front of this room was forty cubits long . . . He prepared the inner sanctuary within the temple to set the ark of the covenant of the Lord there. The inner sanctuary was twenty cubits long, twenty wide and twenty high. He overlaid the inside with pure gold, and he also overlaid the altar of cedar.

The Most Holy Place was where God dwelt and bestowed His favor upon His people, and it contained the ark of the covenant, representing the tree of life. When King Solomon built the temple, he made the Most Holy Place as wide and high as it is long. This shows that the reality of the Most Holy Place is the heavenly Jerusalem to appear in the future. It concludes that entering in the Holy City, Jerusalem, means sharing in eternal life. God has allowed us to receive salvation through Jerusalem. In other words, She is the way of salvation which we long for.

Heavenly Jerusalem is our Mother

The Bible testifies that the Holy City, Jerusalem, leads us to salvation and She is the Mother of our spirits.

Gal 4:26-31 But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother. For it is written: “Be glad, O barren woman, who bears no children; break forth and cry aloud, you who have no labor pains; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband.” Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise. . . . Therefore, brothers, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.

In Revelation 21, Jerusalem is described as the “bride, the wife of the Lamb,” and in Galatians 4 as “our Mother.” The Bride is our heavenly Mother, who gives us the water of life together with our Father who is the Spirit. Our salvation is completed through our heavenly Mother.

The reason we are called the “children of promise like Isaac” is because we will inherit the kingdom of heaven through our heavenly Mother. In the family of Abraham who represents God, Isaac inherited his father’s estate through his mother, Sarah. This history teaches us that the heavenly Mother plays a decisive role in our salvation, too (Lk 16:19-24; Ge 21:1-12).

We are children of Mother the new Jerusalem. God allows each of our righteous acts to become a beautiful ornament on the fine linen of our heavenly Mother who is the Bride, so that we can participate in the splendid glory of Jerusalem. We are truly blessed people because we have been granted the privilege to share in the glory of Jerusalem.

There are still numerous people in the world who do not even know the existence of Jerusalem. We should proclaim the glory of Jerusalem our heavenly Mother throughout the world and share the blessings, which we have received, with many people, so that we may find our lost brothers and sisters quickly and please God Elohim.

The children of Jerusalem coming from all nations

In the plan of God’s salvation, it is foreordained that the heavenly children who are scattered all over the world will come into the arms of Jerusalem Mother.

Jer 3:17-18 At that time they will call Jerusalem The Throne of the Lord, and all nations will gather in Jerusalem to honor the name of the Lord. No longer will they follow the stubbornness of their evil hearts. In those days the house of Judah will join the house of Israel, and together they will come from a northern land to the land I gave your forefathers as an inheritance.

In the book of Jeremiah, it is written that in the last days many people will gather in Jerusalem to honor the name of God. The book of Matthew described Jerusalem’s carrying Her children in Her arms as a hen’s gathering her chicks under her wings (Mt 23:37). God’s salvation will be completed when all the children gather in the arms of the heavenly Jerusalem Mother.

Man cannot stop God’s prophecy. If you really want to be saved, the best way is to follow the trumpet sound of the prophecy.

Jer 3:22-25 “Return, faithless people; I will cure you of backsliding.” “Yes, we will come to you, for you are the Lord our God. Surely the idolatrous commotion on the hills and mountains is a deception; surely in the Lord our God is the salvation of Israel. . . .”

Salvation depends entirely upon God. Heavenly Father said that He came to the earth with the mission of Elijah. Just as John the Baptist came with the mission of Elijah and testified that Jesus was the Savior 2, 000 years ago, our heavenly Father came and made known to us our heavenly Mother who would come in the future. We should realize the plan of God and share in the salvation which is provided by Jerusalem our Mother in this age.

The mission of the people who love Jerusalem

God has opened our eyes and ears wide, so that we can receive Jerusalem our Mother. We have received the wisdom to realize Jerusalem our Mother, and we’ve also received the mission to preach Jerusalem, not being silent, until She becomes the praise of the earth. Let us not forget this mission and proclaim Jerusalem our Mother to Samaria and to the ends of the earth.

Isa 66:10-14 “Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you who love her; rejoice greatly with her, all you who mourn over her. For you will nurse and be satisfied at her comforting breasts; you will drink deeply and delight in her overflowing abundance.” For this is what the Lord says: “I will extend peace to her like a river, and the wealth of nations like a flooding stream; you will nurse and be carried on her arm and dandled on her knees. As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.” When you see this, your heart will rejoice and you will flourish like grass; the hand of the Lord will be made known to his servants, but his fury will be shown to his foes.

Isa 66:18-20 “And I . . . am about to come and gather all nations and tongues, and they will come and see my glory . . . and I will send some of those . . . to the distant islands that have not heard of my fame or seen my glory. They will proclaim my glory among the nations. And they will bring all your brothers, from all the nations, to my holy mountain in Jerusalem as an offering to the Lord—on horses, in chariots and wagons, and on mules and camels,” says the Lord. “They will bring them, as the Israelites bring their grain offerings, to the temple of the Lord in ceremonially clean vessels.”

God’s plan is to complete His work of salvation by leading all the children of Zion into the arms of Jerusalem Mother. If we know the will of God, we should not be silent.

This is a prophetic time when Jerusalem our Mother is gathering Her children in haste, just as a hen gathers her chicks imminently in an emergency. The whole world is earnestly waiting for the salvation of Jerusalem our Mother. We should preach the glory of our Mother quickly, so that all the children of Zion can share in the salvation prepared in the Holy City of Jerusalem. All the prophecies of the Bible are fulfilled without fail. Let’s believe the prophecies absolutely and keep in step with them, so that we will all receive God’s abundant love and blessings.
